bigwordsandsharpedges reblogged your photoset  Just got my Fox print from robbiesantosthings….

And what about the nice Swiss rifle?

I already talked a lot about my [Mousqueton 31] 😉

But it’s probably the only gun I know that is truely good in every domain, from hunting to self-defense, via infantry or guerilla warfare, competitive or recreational shooting, for close quarter or long distance, with an excellent cartridge, the right size and weight. There are probably better guns suited for every of those niches, but they probably cost a lot more money, are that polyvalent, aren’t as beautifully made and are often socially awkward.

I toyed with C.’s Kel Tec PMR30, a very strange .22 Magnum pistol, with a standard capacity of 30 rounds in its magazine. It’s very light, even loaded, but the lenght of the .22 Magnum cartridge makes its grip so large it can be very unpleasant to handle for most people (and even borderline unusable for kids or small-framed women). I’d really like to see a 22 LR variation coming to the market, with a much narrower grip. Of course, it would lose some ballistic performance, but would still pack a lot of firepower in a very efficient package.

From Barracuda to Sangaris, evolution of French colonial troops in Centrafrican Rep. Via @TheatrumBelli & l’Amicale du 8° RPIMa.

Note the evolution (the américanisation, in a sense) of the uniforms, the transitionnal SIG-Manurhin 540, since MAS 49-56 saw its baroud d’honneur at Kolwézi the year before and FAMAS wasn’t really ready, and now FAMAS FÉLIN on the street with FN MINIMI.
