SIG-Sauer P226/Blackhawk holster.

Needs a leather holster to complement that grip.

This is what happen when you grab the first pistol in the safe, and the first matching holster in the bag in a hurry because you’re running late for the shooting training…

So I’ve got my new pistol this afternoon, and for the moment, I’m delighted. Can you guess what it is (hint : this is not a FAMAS) ?

Please tell me that is a Manurhin MR 73.

That would be awesome.

A MR 73 (either with 3″ or the classic Gendarmerie  5″1/4 barrels) is one of my goals, but I’m a working poor and their price is too high right now (but when I was in my twenties, MR73s were available in France for about 500-600 bucks in pristine state. Where is my time travel machine ?).

Almost a PPK? Is it a PP or an FEG PA-63?

Brought home two new friends from Lausanne Gun…

Yeah my guess is a 70s or 80s Colt and either a Walther or a Makarov.

You’re both very good ! Here’s indeed my new 2″ Colt Cobra – the finish is very tired but the trigger is exquisite and my pretty Walther (Ulm) PP in .32 ACP ; the German pistol is quite new, but got the heavier (and honestly, worst) double action I ever tried on a service pistol. Single action is nice, though.

Note that I purposely took a snake gun, and my second favourite one after the Diamondback (but before the Python).

Bersa thunder?

Nope. The only South-American gun I crave is the FAMAE 9mm carbine, which is mostly a SIG 540 in reduction.

Brought home two new friends from Lausanne Gun Show. Can you guess their brand and name ?

Some sort of Colt .38 and a PPK?

Some sort of Colt .38 is validated and almost a PPK ;o)

useless-switzerlandfacts:

Even though there are a lot of people in Switzerland owning guns, the homocide rate in Switzerland is still low since it is illegal to own ammunition, if you don’t have a special permit.

According to a short wikipedia search this is incorrect information. Ammunition can be purchased and owned by anyone who can legally own guns in Switzerland.

“The personal weapons of the militia are kept at home as part of the military obligations. However, it is generally not permitted to keep army-issued ammunition, but compatible ammunition purchased for privately owned guns is permitted.” –https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland

Any Swiss citizens want to explain this further?

Indeed. If you can have a gun (gun permits are shall issue, only people with criminal records and violent psychiatric antecedents can be barred from possession), you can get all the ammunition you want. The only limitation about ammos comes from the fact some fucktard imbecile decided all citizens should comply with Hague Convention so we’re stuck with FMJ projectiles.

interesting, I have never heard of this or seen this before.

Battiato is a great poet singing almost never in English,  with kind of a mystical twist. From a French perspective, I’d like to see it as a mix of Léo Ferré and William Sheller. From an American one? Maybe something like the mix of Bob Dylan and Jethro Tull?
