I kept expecting something else to happen…but it’s just a deer checking out a church. And yet strangely serene…

« Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
    your judgments are like the great deep;
man and beast you save, O Lord.”

-Psalm 36:6 (ESV)

Reblogging again for the verse. Also, how could we leave out psalm 42:

As a hart longs

    for flowing streams,

so longs my soul

    for thee, O God.

Jean-Pierre Ferland redeemed French-Canadian music with just one song – Le Chat du Café des Artistes. It would make a great outro song for an Hannibal finale.

When you’re dead, you’re dead

To stop laughing is stopping to live

When my thread will be cut

Put me in the garbage can

Let me rot for a month

And then, feed me to the cat

He’ll avoid both my spleen and liver

But choose the right hour

So that he’ll eat my heart

That way, I’ll still be with you

On your shoulders or knees

Since one must persists

I’ll be the Café des Artistes’ cat

And if you’re running out of bread

I’ll be there, don’t hesitate

Break my legs and neck

And then eat me

On the cat

That won’t be the first time

An artist will be eaten

When you’re dead, you’re dead

To stop laughing is stopping to live

When his thread was cut off

It was put in the trash can

And then they forgot me there

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

As they forgot the cat

As they will forget my face and my songs

That won’t be the first time

An artist will be forgotten

When you’re dead, you’re dead

To stop laughing is stoping to live

When his thread was cut off

It was put in the trash can

And then they forgot me there

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

I really enjoy the Hannibal tv show. At least, it’s the only one that makes me craving for deer meat. And I like Mads Mikkelsen’s Bentley. It suits the character. I’m wondering if Harris chose the first name “Hannibal” because its phonetic proximity with “animal” (at least in French?)
